The 100-point room
A lounge score has to be lived.
Source research can place a venue in the atlas. Only a documented in-person TPCC evaluation can place a number beside its name.
The rubric
Five parts. One complete room.
Ventilation performance, smoke management, cleanliness and the condition of the room during the visit.
Storage condition, range, useful depth, pricing clarity and whether the assortment suits the room it serves.
Product command, recommendations, pacing, beverage competence where offered and attention without hovering.
Seating, lighting, sound, temperature, design coherence and whether the space rewards a full cigar.
Welcome, reservation and guest clarity, membership communication and how well the venue delivers its stated access model.
When a lounge receives a number
A numeric rating requires a documented in-person visit by an assigned TPCC reviewer. The reviewer records category notes during or immediately after the visit, totals the five components and submits the file for editorial review. Source-only profiles remain marked Not yet rated.
Access is context, not a penalty
Public lounges, private clubs, outdoor rooms and retail anchors are different models. A private club is not marked down simply for being private; it is evaluated on how clearly and consistently it delivers the access and hospitality it promises.
Score bands
95–100: exceptional destination · 90–94: outstanding · 85–89: very good · 80–84: recommended with reservations · below 80: below the TPCC recommendation threshold for the reviewed visit.
Revisits and corrections
The published review identifies the visit date. A later documented visit may replace the score when service, ownership, ventilation, humidor condition or the physical room materially changes. Factual corrections do not wait for a revisit.
Atlas selection and photography
Each page starts with a current official venue source. TPCC favors dedicated cigar rooms with a clearly described humidor, lounge, beverage or hospitality program and enough access information to plan a visit. Where law or market conditions leave no verified public lounge, the page names a credible cigar retailer and labels it as a retail anchor.
Every profile links current photographs at the official venue source. A site-owned atmosphere image is labeled as editorial and is never presented as documentary photography of a venue it does not depict.
